Physical and Artistic Activities

Gymnastics/Physical Education
All gymnastics and physical education classes are held at the Ginásio Clube de Odivelas to ensure the best possible conditions for participating in these activities.
Dance
- To foster creativity and a love of movement;
- Develop body awareness, including its possibilities and limitations;
- Develop spatial awareness;
- Develop musicality, coordination, and expressiveness;
- Develop social skills through group work (interpersonal relationships);
- Create, memorize, and reproduce musical phrases;
- Acquire an understanding of choreographic structure — beginning, middle, and end;
- To encourage children's artistic expression.

Taekwondo
- Develops physical and motor coordination, flexibility, balance, and concentration;
- Fosters team spirit through training with peers;
- Develops self-defense skills;
- Teaches immobilization techniques that help develop an awareness of body weight distribution and control over a partner’s body;
- Promotes discipline.
Swimming
It promotes discipline. Considered one of the most well-rounded forms of exercise, swimming is an excellent choice for children. It improves respiratory function, reducing symptoms of allergic conditions such as asthma and rhinitis, which are very common in children. Swimming also helps strengthen muscles at the same time, which is excellent for children who are still developing and growing.
This sport also helps improve posture, motor development, and blood circulation, and aids in weight management, since muscles work even harder in the water than during land-based activities, resulting in a higher calorie burn than many other sports.

Dramatic Expression and Theater
Work on theater exercises and techniques that enhance children’s communication skills, concentration, memory, creativity, and ability to work in groups, while fostering empathy for others.
Theater improves students' academic performance, a benefit that is reflected both in their grades and in their motivation and commitment to their courses.
The work produced will be shared with parents and educators through two public presentations: one at Christmas and another at the end of the school year.
